The Intel® Desktop Board DG35EC Classic Series has been optimized to deliver new levels of performance and reliability for home and business users.

The Intel Desktop Board DG35EC has built-in microATX form factor supporting a range of processors including the Intel® Core™2 Duo processor, Intel® Core™2 Quad processor, Intel® Pentium® processor, Intel® Celeron® processor and Celeron® processor 400 series (up to 95W TDP). This board can support up to 8GB of dual channel DDR2 800/667 SDRAM memory. It also offers Intel® HD Video experience, Intel® High Definition Audio with support for 5.1 surround sound, integrated 10/100/1000 Network connection and ample USB connectors for all your computer peripherals. This Intel desktop board also offers IEEE 1394a, a new feature that contributes to a great digital entertainment experience.

Intel® Atom™ Processor Z5xx Series

The Intel® Atom™ processor Z5xx series provides a variety of design options with 2.0 or 2.2 watts thermal design power (TDP), two package sizes, and industrial as well as commercial temperature ranges. Based on 45nm Hi-k next generation Intel® Core™ microarchitecture, these processors implement ground-breaking power management techniques making them ideal for thermally constrained and fanless embedded applications.

Featuring embedded lifecycle support, the Intel Atom processors are ideal for many embedded market segments such as in-vehicle infotainment, medical, retail and transaction solutions (kiosks, point-of-service terminals), gaming and industrial control and automation. It remains software compatible with previous 32-bit Intel® architecture and complementary silicon.

These single-core processors are validated with the Intel® System Controller Hub (SCH) US15W, which integrates a graphics memory controller hub and an I/O controller hub into one package. This low-power platform has a combined thermal design power under five watts.

Intel® X48 Express Chipset

Desktop PC platforms based on the Intel® X48 Express Chipset, combined with either the Intel® Core™2 Duo, Intel® Core™2 Quad or Intel® Core™2 Extreme processors establish a new standard for performance. Designed to push the limits, the Intel® X48 Express Chipset supports the new Intel® QX9770 Core™2 Extreme processor with 1600 FSB, dual-channel XMP 1600 MHz DDR3 memory, next generation dual X16 PCI Express 2.0 and Intel® Extreme Tuning to extract the maximum platform performance.

With the growing imbalance between CPU and memory performance, it is critical to optimize the memory controller design to obtain the maximum possible performance from the memory subsystem. The redesigned Intel X48 Express Chipset Memory Controller Hub (MCH) architecture significantly increases overall system performance through the optimization of available bandwidth with the new 1600 MHz system bus and reduction of memory access latency with Intel® Fast Memory Access. These technology breakthroughs result in optimized system architecture with built-in intelligence, greatly improving system memory performance. The updated MCH also includes support for Intel 45nm next-generation Intel Core 2 processor family and wider internal data buses that support dual-channel DDR3 memory technology at 1600 MHz.
